The model is disassembled by first removing the couplers. The body is then gently removed from the chassis, first at the rear of the model. This is done so as to avoid damage to the ditchlight moulding at the cab end.
With the body separated (wiring remains in the way somewhat), the 8 pin decoder is plugged in to the 8 pin socket on the motherboard.
Next the speaker is connected to the decoder an placed on the chassis.
Finally the body is reassembled to the chassis and couplers re-fitted.
