Items used:
ESU 58823 LokSound 5 DCC Micro decoder
ESU 54671 Powerpack mini
Premium DCCSound speaker chassis for Atlas Genset
Disassembly:
1) Remove both coupler assemblies and set aside.
2) Gently pull the complete body assembly up and away from the chassis.
3) Disconnect the front and rear headlight wires from the motherboard. Then set the body aside.

4) Next, disconnect all other wires from the motherboard and then unscrew the motherboard. it is held to the chassis with 4 screws. Two of these screws will be re-used.
5) Unscrew the long hood end upper chassis section from the lower via the single screw holding it in place. Set it aside.

Installation:
1) Place the new integrated speaker onto the chassis.
2) Solder the decoder's grey wire to the top motor connection.
3) Pass the long hood end bogie wires (red and black) and motor black wire up through the new chassis. Then wire the decoder's red and black wires as well as the orange wire to the model's respective wires.
4) Connect the Powerpack mini to the decoder via three solder pads. Then place the decoder and Powerpack in place on the chassis with double sided tape.
5) Wire the two brown speaker wires from the decoder to the speaker, noting the speaker should be wired in parallel with the decoder.
6) Fix the new speaker/chassis in place via two screws at the cab end. The opposite end is a friction fit.

7) Lighting: Wire the decoder's white and yellow wires to 470 ohm resistors and then to the headlight black wires (F0f & F0r). Connect the red wires to the decoder's blue common (positive wire).
8) The ditchlight PCBs are current protected, so there is no need for additional resistors on Aux 1 & Aux 2. Connect the short hood end's black wire to the decoder's green wire (Aux 1) and the long hood end's black wire to the decoder's purple wire (Aux 2). Then connect the two red wires to the decoder's blue common (positive wire).
9) Once all wires are neatly packaged, carefully refit the body, ensuring no wires are damaged during reassembly.
10) Refit the coupler assemblies previously removed.
