DCCSound premium speaker to suit SDS models 1620 class

Disassembly

Turn the model upside down and remove the two coupler screws. Then remove the coupler assemblies.

Gently pull the shell up from the chassis and set aside.

Next, remove the two screws holding the motherboard to the chassis and move the motherboard slightly away from the chassis without straining the connected wires.

Installation

Remove the 21 pin socket DC board from the 21 pin plug on the underside of the SDS motherboard and insert the decoder, ensuring the orientation is correct (check the decoder is the correct way up and all the pins are aligned in the socket of the decoder).

Slide the speaker into place. The small tab on one end of the speaker is a locator and sits on top of the motor housing. The motor's black wire may limit clearance so may need to be unsoldered then reattached for assembly purposes.

Carefully remount the motherboard to the chassis, ensuring no speaker wires are crushed in the process. Tape wires in place to prevent damage from the body when it is refitted.

Installation is complete once the body and couplers have been refitted.
