Items used:

ESU 58219 LokSound 5 FX decoder

DCCSound Premium speaker for the Comeng Power Van

Disassembly of body from chassis:

1) Splay body sides away from chassis, as there are 4 features per side that hold the body in place.

2) Gently lift body shell from chassis, avoiding damage to fine detail.

Decoder installation:

1) Remove the 21-MTC DC board as well as the Auscision speaker enclosure via 2 small screws

2) Fit the DCCSound Premium speaker using the two screws previously removed.

3) Plug the decoder in via the same orientation as the 21-MTC DC board prior to removal. Ensure all 21 pins are aligned correctly and not jammed one row out. If incorrectly installed the decoder will fail on powering up.

Important: If the speaker is directly wired to the decoder, ensure the two pin plug at the spkr connection on the Auscision board is removed from it's socket. The decoder is not warrantied if the plug remains connected.

Test the installed decoder, and then refit the body. If the body rattles, consider reducing the volume or providing an aperture for the sound to escape from the interior volume.
