Disassembly:
1) Disconnect the MU cable from the chassis, under the cab.
2) Gently splay out the lower edge of the body from the chassis and place a strip of business card or similar at three points along each side of the chassis where the body locates to the chassis.
3) Gently pull the body up and away from the chassis, working from non-cab end as it is a little easier to get purchase. The coupler can be used to hold the chassis, but don't pull on the bogie as it may dislodge from the chassis.
Installation (common for motored and un-motored units):
1) Remove the DC mode PCB from the 21 pin plug and plug the sound decoder in.
An ESU 58429 LokSound decoder is fitted to the motored unit, while an ESU 58219 LokSound decoder is fitted to the non-motored unit.
2) Unplug the factory speaker (if fitted) via the two plugs on the Auscision motherboard. Remove the speaker gently as it is a light press-fit into the shell.
3) One plug can be reused with the new speaker. It does not matter which of the two sockets the new speaker is connected to. Alternatively, and recommended to do so, wire the DCCSound premium speaker directly to the decoder's two speaker connections, bypassing the two speaker connection sockets.
In the image below, the orientation of the speaker can be seen. The speaker drivers face down.
4) The DCCSound speaker is a simple but firm press fit back into the ceiling as shown below. Ensure the speaker is pushed home all the way onto the 4 lugs otherwise the body will not fit properly back on the chassis.
Reassembly:
1) Fit the body with speaker gently back down over the chassis, ensuring the fit is correct.
2) Refit the MU cable, disconnected earlier.
Note:
When making CV changes, the microswitch on the underside of the chassis should be first set to off, otherwise the stay alive capacitors may interfere with programming..
