DCCSound Premium speaker for the 421 class

2015 & 2017 runs

1) Splay the lower edge of the body outward from the chassis and the body will lift off from the chassis.

2) Remove the 21 pin DC plug and speaker enclosure from the model.

3) Insert the 21 pin decoder and DCCSound speaker. The speaker is fixed to the chassis via two screws.

4) Refit the body once the decoder has been tested.

2026 run

Essentially the same, though now the model has the stay-alive components fitted with a revised motherboard.

The decoder is mounted differently, in the NEM660 compact form.

The speaker may be wired to the two wires coming from the motherboard, or direct wired to the decoder.
